Yorkshire Women of the Year Awards

Sue Ryder Wheatfield Hospice once again hosted the Yorkshire Women of the Year Awards at Saviles Hall in Leeds. The event celebrates the achievements of some of Yorkshires amazing women whilst raising money for Sue Ryder Wheatfield’s Hospice. This year more than £41 thousand was raised for the hospice which provides much need support for people with life-limiting conditions such as cancer, end-stage lung and heart disease, as well as many other serious illnesses. With running costs at over £ 4 million this event plays an important part in keeping the vital service open. Production Light & Sound Ltd have been proud sponsors of the event for the last seven years providing full production as well as designing the stage set and visuals for the event which is attended by over 500 women from around Yorkshire. Two large projection screens provide a clear view from anywhere in the venue of the presenters on stage as well as showing films of the nominees and winners. The stage set and drapes and washed in the events colour scheme with a large 2m x 3m logo dominating the centre of the stage. Moving lights slowly scan over the tables to provide a subtle break-up effect and add atmosphere to this large room focusing your attention on the stage area and the guest speakers.

‘Wheatfield’s is a very special place and having received their help with my own close family the service they provide is amazing, this event really does make a difference to everyone at the hospice and the winners of the awards’. Jason Salvin, Director, Production Light & Sound Ltd.
