We’re proud to share that Production Light & Sound has been awarded the Phase 2 Badge in the PLASA Carbon Reduction Commitment.
This achievement is recognition that we’re taking measurable action to reduce our carbon footprint and support a more sustainable events industry.
The PLASA Carbon Reduction Commitment supports the entertainment technology and live events sector, building on established frameworks like the albert questionnaire and the Theatre Green Book. It provides a clear, phased framework to help organisations measure, reduce and manage their carbon emissions.
– Commitment & communication: pledging to the scheme, setting targets and promoting sustainability across stakeholder groups.
– Operations & output: embedding sustainability into training and everyday operations, from manufacturing to live productions.
– Measurement & reporting: annually tracking carbon footprints and sharing progress to foster accountability and improvement across the industry
By taking part, members are contributing to a growing community of organisations working together to align with the global path to Net Zero. The badge itself is a symbol of recognition, showing that positive change is not only possible but happening now.
Our journey to Phase 2
At Production Light & Sound, we build sustainability into everything we do. To reach Phase 2, we’ve also introduced several initiatives to reduce our impact:
- 🌱 Investing in renewable energy solutions through our Green Voltage rollout.
- 🌱 Creating a sustainability working group to drive continuous improvement across the team.
- 🌱 Training our crew in carbon literacy, so sustainability is understood at every level.
- 🌱 Developing an Environmental Action Plan and tracking our baseline emissions to measure progress.
These steps reflect our commitment to going beyond words and taking practical action.
What’s next?
We’re proud to see PLASA recognise the progress we’ve made, but we also know this is only the beginning. Sustainability is a journey, not a destination, and there is always more to do.
This initiative brings us into a wider industry movement where we share knowledge, address challenges, as well as work together on solutions.
We will keep exploring new ways to reduce our footprint while delivering the same high-quality productions our clients expect.
If you’re looking for a production partner who places sustainability at the heart of events, we’d love to hear from you.
